Privacy Policy for Pipe Buyer

Effective Date: August 29, 2026
Last updated: August 29, 2026

Application Overview: Pipe Buyer, accessible at https://www.pipebuyer.com, is a business-to-business marketplace for industrial equipment and materials. The platform includes listings, wanted ads, offers, timed buying and auction tools, messaging, seller payout onboarding, enabled payment features, and a freight Dispatch network. Initial operations focus on Canada and the United States.

Payments and seller payouts are handled through approved providers such as Stripe. Pipe Buyer stores the provider identifiers, payment status, transaction amounts, fee calculations, subscription state, payout-readiness state, and reconciliation records needed to operate the platform. Stripe-hosted Checkout and Stripe Connect collect sensitive card, bank, identity, and payout information directly. Pipe Buyer does not ask users to enter raw card numbers, CVV values, routing/account numbers, IBANs, or tax IDs into Pipe Buyer for Stripe seller onboarding.

We may also receive information from payment providers when a payment, subscription, refund, dispute, transfer, payout, or verification status changes. We use provider-signed webhooks and server-side verification rather than trusting a browser return page as proof of payment.

Payment data we deliberately do not store in Pipe Buyer: full payment card numbers, CVV values, raw bank account/routing numbers, raw IBAN/SWIFT payout credentials, or Stripe seller-onboarding identity documents. Those details are collected and handled by Stripe or another approved provider on its secure surfaces.

2. Google User Data

Google OAuth Data Disclosure:

Pipe Buyer’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use Information

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Payment Provider and Financial Data Sharing

Stripe. Pipe Buyer uses Stripe for enabled payment processing, subscriptions, seller onboarding, connected-account transfers, refunds, disputes, and related payment services. Information necessary to create or administer those services may be shared with Stripe, including your name, email, business/display name, country, Pipe Buyer account reference, transaction references, amounts, currency, and transaction metadata. Stripe separately collects payment credentials, bank details, identity verification data, and other information required under Stripe’s own terms and privacy practices.

Pipe Buyer may retain Stripe object identifiers and status information so that a transaction can be traced from the business event to the provider event and accounting record. We do not use a payment provider to expose one user's private financial credentials to another user.

5. Fraud Prevention and Automated Processing

We use security and risk signals from Pipe Buyer and, where applicable, payment providers to identify suspicious accounts or transactions. Signals can include account age, verification status, transaction history, device/session behavior, message reports, listing characteristics, location anomalies, payment failures, disputes, and provider risk results.

Automated signals may block an obviously invalid technical request or route activity for review. Account enforcement and transaction-risk operations may include human review, especially where a user is materially affected.

6. Other Data Sharing

Other users. Public profiles and listings are visible according to the feature. Messages are visible to conversation participants. Exact private Dispatch details are limited to users who require them for the job workflow.

Cloud and infrastructure providers. We use Google Firebase and Google Cloud services, including Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and related infrastructure.

Service providers. We may use specialist providers for maps/routing, messaging/communications, security, analytics, support, accounting, tax, and other functions as the platform expands. We limit sharing to what is reasonably required for the service.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful process, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Pipe Buyer, users, or the public.

Business transfer. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

7. Where Information Is Stored

Pipe Buyer production infrastructure uses Google Cloud/Firebase and may store or process information in the United States or other provider-supported regions. Payment providers may process information in locations described in their own privacy documentation. Cross-border users should understand that information can be processed outside their home province, state, or country and may be subject to lawful access requests in those jurisdictions.
